Report Card Time

It's the end of the first nine weeks of the school year, and it has been a good quarter of school for all three of our girls.


Jaylin who plays on the varsity tennis team for Broome had a good season.  She went from playing JV (not in the top seven) last year to playing #5 to begin this season.  Then she moved up to the #3 seed for almost the rest of the season.  She even played at #2 several matches.  She started out really well, but as she moved up the competition got even better, too.  She lost three matches in a tie breaker.  The good thing is that she is only an 8th grader and has many more seasons to get better!  As far as school goes, she made all As and 1 B on her report card (the B was a 92 average--1 point from an A).  She is a mentor at the elementary school to a class of 4 year-olds and helps with the yearbook and in the library.  AND, she is taking a virtual school class.  Basketball tryouts are next!  OH, and for the past two months Jaylin has been honored by one of her teachers at their Breakfast of Champions--they use character education at her school.  She has shown courage and responsibility and has been recognized for that.

Jillian played volleyball for MSP this year again. Unfortunately, their season was not as successful as it was last year.  Jillian started out playing, but as the season wore on, she rode the bench more.  I am proud of her her just continuing to be a supportive member of the team!  She will be trying out for basketball next, too.  Her grades are awesome, too.  All As and 1 B (the B was also a 92 average--1 point from an A).  She helps in the library at school and works on the yearbook.  She also takes a virtual school class. Jillian is very smart, and lets you know it! Haha!

We are very proud of both of our teenage girls, and we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds for them.

Graycin is taking gymnastics again for the second year.  She has also started taking piano lessons, and she seems to be enjoying it.  Her piano teacher says she picks up on the skills so fast that she often forgets that Graycin is only six years old!  At school she is reading well above grade level.  She loves to read, and that just thrills me!  She is so smart and intuitive!  Her teacher says she asks great questions and tells us what a great helper she is in class. This month she was also honored as Writer of the Month for her class.

We are proud, too, of our baby girl!

We are so blessed to have such amazing children.  I have always been in awe of how well my parents did raising Keith, Kevin and me.  I mean, they made it seem like it was so easy.  It is definitely not easy!  There are so many things to do and challenges to face with them.  You want to protect them from everything, but at the same time, you have to let them learn how to be independent.  That is difficult.  I am so glad that I have parents who instilled in me a work ethic, values, and mores.  Those are definitely the things that are helping me to raise a family that I (and they) can be proud of!
